Lance Wickens - Adviser

My career began in investment banking, spending close to 20 years trading currencies and interest rates, whilst dealing with balance sheet management. Despite it being one of the few desk jobs that could provide an adrenaline rush, never seeing the light of day meant it rapidly lost its appeal.

Making a career switch, I started as a risk insurance adviser in 2008 and have been steadily building my client base ever since. I find it particularly rewarding meeting new people, forming relationships and providing advice as they go through their various stages in life.

Away from work, three young children keep my partner and I pretty busy. When (or if) I get the chance, I like to swing a golf club, play water polo, or go for a surf. I’ve always been drawn to the water, previously being a member of Lyall Bay, Waipu Cove, and Red Beach Surf Life Saving Clubs.
